Telecommunications power outages, which can be caused by grid failure or unstable power supply, should be avoided. To prevent this type of situation, it is best to rely on a standby AC generator set.

How does a standby AC unit work?

In this case, the load is usually connected to the mains. When a voltage or frequency error occurs, a start signal is sent to the generator after a preset delay. When the generator voltage is within the programmed limits, the load is connected to the generator until the power line returns to standard values. At this time, the load is passed back and the generator remains in no-load mode for a suitably set time to allow it to cool down.

The mains normally supplies the load and keeps the batteries charged at the same time. In the event of a mains failure, the battery bank supplies the load. IntegraTel® starts the emergency.

How does a variable-speed DC generator set with batteries work?

If the mains outage lasts long enough for the battery charge to fall below a predetermined threshold, IntegraTel® activates the emergency generator set. On the page The generator set provides power to both the consumers and to charge the batteries. It will be switched off by IntegraTel® when the batteries are fully charged. This operating principle increases the efficiency of the entire system, allowing significant savings in both operating costs and carbon dioxide emissions.
