CHP, a.k.a. Combined Heat Power
Combined Heat Power (CHP) is a system that allows two forms of energy, electricity and heat, to be produced simultaneously in the same conversion process, using a single source of primary energy.
The use of CHP allows the energy efficiency of the conversion systems to be increased, realising primary energy savings compared to what would be necessary with traditional generation.
Among the cogeneration technologies, one can distinguish the one based on the use of a generator set, powered mainly by gas, from which thermal waste is recovered, making it available to users.
